Welcome to Maryborough MAC

The Maryborough Aeromodellers Club (MAC) usually meets Wednesdays and Sundays however, there is likely to be someone every moring most days of the week so don't hesitate to drop in for a chat.

We fly different types of models ranging from Gaint Scale to small electric foamy planes, Turbine Jets, Methanol, Gas and Electric Powered Planes, Gliders, Helicopters and Drones.

The club operates under an Area Approval issued by the MAAA under the general instrument and it is therefore imperrative that MAC Members,visiting Pilots and Spectators acquaint themselves with and abide by the General & Safety Rules

Event Calendar 2026

Events are organised and managed by the respective aeromodelling special interest groups and are not “public displays/shows” however, members of the public are welcome to visit the club and attend these special group events at no cost.

Updated General and Safety Rules

Members and visiting Pilots please take note and abide with the General and Safety Rules which was updated to meet the requirements for the MAC Area Approval Renewal and unanimously approved by the MAC Management Committee on 12/10/2025.

Operational Restrictions

During periods of Total Fire Bans (TOBAN) for Queensland or locally for the Fraser Coast Region, the operation of Turbine and Lipo Battery powered aircraft at the MAC airstrip is NOT ALLOWED in accordance with the MAC General and Safety Rules.

Model Aeronautical Association of Queensland

The (MAAQ) is the body delegated by the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia (MAAA) to be responsible for all aspects of model flying in Queensland.
